BUBBLES DURAMOLD : GUTS

Thanks for bearing with me while the pictures load. I'm sure you'll find that the wait is worth it. Let's see what we've got here.

First, we've got the main game PCB. It's nice and clean, with no corrosion on the battery holder (to save high scores, welcome message!!, bookkeeping, etc.).

Next is the infamous Bob Roberts power supply. It is screwed solidly into the plastic. You can see the wires splicing into the monitor's power, as well as the bypass connection to the daughterboards. In the back, winding around the left coin shoot is the only "non-stock" cable that isn't original or came from the new power supply. It's a standard phone cable that used to ground the coin door. When you install the new power supply, you bypass the original one, and thus, bypass the original ground as well. You have to ground the new one otherwise it doesn't work.

The next two pictures are of what I call the Attic. You can't really get your head up there to look around, so I held the camera and took the two pictures. You're looking at the space right behind the marquee. The light fixture is there, but it isn't screwed down, and the marquee is in great shape. Also, the only functional problem that I noticed has to do with the speaker that you can see in those pictures. All the sounds play fine, except there is a constant, subtle static sound that you can hear in the background. I don't know if the speaker wires need to be replaced, or shielded, or what, but it sounds like a pretty easy fix. Knowing me, I would probably just go get a new speaker and replace the whole thing. ;-)

The next picture is of the coin mechs inside the coin door. They are VERY CLEAN. Everything works great. The only that I noticed is that there is no mechanical coin counter. I don't know if Duramolds came with them, or if this one had one and is missing. There's never been one there. The bookkeeping button in the bottom coin door leads me to belive that maybe they wanted all bookkeeping done electronically. Who knows?

After that we have the two daughterboards (sound and power). Both very clean. Following the boards is the dirty monitor. That's the only thing I didn't really clean when I first got it. At the time I thought I was just going to replace the monitor. But, since I never got around to it, it's still dirty (and working!).

Next is the original power supply transformer. Not much to say there. The last two pics are of strange stickers/tags that I noticed. The first one is a Patent Pending sticker inside the cabinet and the last is some sort of power tag or something. To top it off, I have a MINT set of standard upright manuals and schematics.
